I was driving through Golden Meadow on HWY-1 where the speed limit drops drastically to 30 MPH. I had just come from offshore and my baggage got mixed up and I did not receive a bag which contained my wallet. While travelling through Golden Meadow I was on the phone with the platform trying to make arrangements to get my bag back. Obviously not paying attention to the speed limit, I was pulled over for speeding (40 mph in a 30 mph zone). The Officer, who did not even introduce himself walked up to my window and demanded my credentials. I explained to him that my license was in the bag which I had left offshore, and he took my insurance and registration and returned with a citation, which did not have a fine amount. This officer was the rudest I have ever encountered, and since he did not introduce himself I have only the name which is not really legible on the citation, (Christopher P.?). I have no issue receiving a citation for speeding, which I openly admit I was, but what happened to polite and courteous officers? Especially considering the day I was having, I was still polite and courteous to the officer? I am a Veteran and have the utmost respect for our LEO's, but this guy was the worst in the profession I have encountered to date. I travel through Golden Meadow several times a month, but if there is a way for me to not go through Golden Meadow, you can believe I will avoid it at all costs. I will never put one more cent of my hard earned money into this town. I remember a day if you had a clean driving record, LEO would let you off with a warning or at least reduce the fine to help you out. It is blindingly clear that this is a very big source of income for this town, and I honestly believe if I had been doing 3-5 mph over I still would have been pulled over. Again, it's not the ticket, or the 350 dollar fine. It was your extremely rude, unprofessional officer that conducted this stop!
Mayor is a good person and extremely polite. Chief of Police is an egomaniac who is so full of himself. Doesn't have much experience in Police work. Most of all, he doesn't back his people when they are lied on and slandered. He just throws you away because he is a politician and will do what he can to save himself first. Only good thing I see is that Off. Christopher P. Is no longer working for them so they don't have to worry about him forcing himself on drunk women in the town anymore.
